Consul General backs scholarship program in New York
Pakistan’s Consul General in New York, Mr. Aamer Ahmed Atozai, met with representatives of the Brilliance Foundation to receive a detailed briefing on its education and community development work in Pakistan. The meeting focused on a new scholarship program being launched with the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to support students from underprivileged backgrounds.
According to the briefing, the initiative will offer scholarships to 30 students from the 2025 batch for the full duration of their degree programs. Valued at around US$45,000 over three years, the scholarship program is aimed at helping orphaned and financially disadvantaged students continue their studies without interruption.
The foundation also shared updates on its online education efforts and student support services designed to widen access to learning opportunities for deserving youth in Pakistan. These initiatives, the representatives said, are intended to create a stronger pathway for students who face financial and social barriers to education.
Mr. Atozai appreciated the Foundation’s commitment to educational uplift and social support, and noted the contribution of the Pakistani-American community in advancing development efforts back home. The meeting reflected continued interest in partnership-driven projects that can make a practical difference for students across Pakistan.
