Senate Finance Report Backs Transparency Drive
Chairman Senate of Pakistan Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani received the Senate Finance Report for March 2025 to March 2026 from Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue Chairman Senator Saleem Mandviwalla in Islamabad.
The report highlights the committee’s work on legislation, oversight and policy matters aimed at improving fiscal transparency, financial accountability and governance. It also reflects the committee’s focus on issues linked to the national economy and revenue generation, areas that remain central to parliamentary scrutiny in Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Gilani said parliamentary oversight plays a vital role in strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring transparency in public affairs. He appreciated the committee’s active engagement on key financial and revenue-related issues and noted that such efforts help build public confidence in democratic processes.
The Senate chairman also praised Senator Saleem Mandviwalla and the committee members for their dedication, saying effective parliamentary committees are essential for protecting public interest and improving institutional performance.
Reaffirming the upper house’s commitment to democratic values, Gilani said the Senate will continue to support transparency, accountability and strong parliamentary processes to promote good governance and sustainable economic development across the country.
