Islamabad (Arif mehmood khan)Three emerging star Pakistani squad players have made the country proud by claiming three medals in the ongoing 30th Asian Junior Individual Championship 2023 in Dalian, China.
According to the official announcement, Nauman Khan clinched the gold medal by defeating Ahmad Rayyan Khalil with a game score of 9/11, 11/8, 6/11, 11/3, 11/9 in the U-13 category.
Ahmad Rayyan, the second finalist alongside Nauman Khan, gave a tough time to his fellow countryman in the final encounter but could not maintain consistency and ended up with the Silver Medal.
Another Pakistani young squad sensation, Abdullah Nawaz, also displayed a magnificent performance in the four-day marquee event in China, winning the Bronze Medal in the U-17 category.
Meanwhile, President of the Pakistan Squash Federation, Air Vice Marshal Kazim Hammad, congratulated the star squad players for their historic achievements in the mega event.
Kazim Hammad also lauded the efforts of the head coach, Farhan Zaman, for preparing the Pakistani emerging contingent for the Asian Junior Individual Championship.
It is pertinent to mention here that this is the second time within a span of a month that Pakistani squash players have made the country proud with magnificent achievements on different continents.
Last month, the Peshawar-born squad sensation, Hamza Khan, clinched the World Junior Squash Championship title in Melbourne by defeating Mohamed Zakaria of Egypt.
This historic victory marked the end of a 37-year-long wait for Pakistan, with Jansher Khan being the last player to bring home the coveted title in 1986. -
