Maroof Health Camp Brings Free Care to Children

In Islamabad, Maroof International Hospital joined hands with the Royal Thai Embassy to hold a community wellness initiative at Pakistan Sweet Home under the Maroof Community Program, bringing much-needed healthcare support to children and staff in a caring setting.

The Maroof health camp was arranged as part of the birthday celebrations of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana of Thailand, reflecting a shared sense of service, compassion and community welfare. The camp offered free consultations in Pediatrics, General Medicine, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Psychology, with doctors and specialists assessing the health needs of the participants on site.

Medical screenings indicated that many of the children were facing common dental concerns such as cavities, along with eyesight-related issues that needed attention. Nearly 60 percent of the children were identified with dental and vision problems, while around 40 percent required general medical and mental health consultations, showing the importance of early checkups and timely care.

To further support recovery and treatment, MIH Pharmacy also provided free medicines to all children and staff who visited the camp. The facility helped ensure that those examined on the day could begin the next steps in their care without added financial pressure.

His Excellency Mr. Rongvudhi Virabutr, Ambassador of Thailand, attended the event as chief guest and praised the effort for supporting underprivileged children. He said he was pleased to see practical steps being taken for the health and wellbeing of those in need, and noted that linking the camp with the royal birthday celebrations highlighted Thailand’s humanitarian outlook.

Chairman MIH Chaudhry Naseer Ahmed said the hospital would continue backing healthcare services for orphaned and vulnerable children through the Maroof Community Program. CEO MIH Mr. Haroon Naseer also acknowledged the work of Mr. Zamurrad Khan for maintaining a supportive environment at Pakistan Sweet Home and thanked the Royal Thai Embassy for its partnership in the initiative.

The event ended with an Appreciation Shields Ceremony, where the Royal Thai Embassy, Pakistan Sweet Home and MIH teams were recognized for their contributions to community healthcare and social wellbeing.
