Pakistan Consul General Presents Football to Chicago Mayor
Pakistan’s Consul General Zaman Mehdi presented Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson with a made in-Pakistan football as a symbol of Pakistan and United States friendship during an event organized by the Sonia Shah Organization.
Speaking at the event, the Consul General said Pakistan made footballs reflect the skill, craftsmanship and enterprise for which Pakistan is recognized around the world. He also said they represent the power of sport to bring people and communities together.
He further noted the shared aspirations connecting Chicagoland and the wider Midwest region with communities across Pakistan, including hopes for wider opportunities for children, the importance of education, dignity of work, inclusion and service, and the role of Pakistani Americans as a living bridge between the two countries.
The Consul General thanked Mayor Brandon Johnson for his warm engagement and for celebrating the enduring friendship between Pakistan and the United States.
