Acting President Welcomes Abid Sher Ali to Senate
Acting President Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani received newly elected Senator Abid Sher Ali at Parliament House in Islamabad for a detailed discussion on the country’s political situation, upper house affairs and the legislative process. The meeting focused on how the Senate can contribute to effective governance and public welfare.
The Acting President offered warm congratulations to Abid Sher Ali on taking his oath as a member of the Senate and commended his experience and steady political judgment. He said that the senator’s arrival is expected to enhance the performance of the upper house and bring valuable perspective to the legislative process.
Abid Sher Ali expressed appreciation for the leadership shown by Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani and welcomed recent steps to improve Senate functioning. He reiterated his commitment to pursue legislation aimed at national development and improved living standards, emphasizing cooperation and a results-oriented approach in parliament.
The meeting, held at Parliament House, was attended by Senator Sherry Rehman and former Senator Sardar Yaqub Khan Nasir.
