RWU Sends Athlete to Blind Cricket World Cup

Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (PoP, T.I), Vice Chancellor of Rawalpindi Women University, extended her best wishes and heartfelt prayers as student Shumaila Kiran departed to represent Pakistan at the Blind Women’s Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka. The university celebrated Shumaila’s selection and highlighted the significance of this international assignment for female athletes with disabilities.

Shumaila Kiran previously represented RWU in the Pakistan-Australia Blind Cricket Series in Australia, earning recognition for the university on the global stage. Her participation in successive international events underscores the growing opportunities for blind athletes and the development of Blind Cricket in Pakistan’s academic institutions.

Rawalpindi Women University reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women through education, sports and inclusion, ensuring every student can pursue excellence both inside and outside the classroom. The Vice Chancellor’s message stressed support for athletes who inspire others and break barriers in sport and society.
