Mr. Bilal Anwar, CEO of the National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF), was welcomed as the Guest of Honour at the Pre-Local Conference of Youth – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, held at the Governor House in Peshawar. During his address, he emphasized the essential role that youth play in disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation efforts across Pakistan.

Mr. Anwar called for greater institutional collaboration to build a resilient nation capable of meeting the challenges of climate change. He highlighted NDRMF’s initiatives, which include innovative disaster risk financing, capacity-building programs, and community-driven projects. Special attention was given to empowering young people through training opportunities, awareness campaigns, and leadership roles in climate action.

His participation was particularly meaningful for the National Youth Climate Change Council (NYCCC), as Mr. Anwar has been a strong advocate for youth-led climate action from the outset.
