Awareness on Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplaces

**Punjab Health and Population Departments Host Session on Workplace Harassment Protection**
The Punjab Family Planning Program, in partnership with the Directorate General Population Welfare and the Women Development Department Punjab, recently organized an orientation session to enhance awareness on legal protections against harassment of women in the workplace. The event brought together field officers from across Punjab, alongside key officials, to discuss the enforcement of the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010, and to foster a safer working environment for women.
During the session, Mr. Imran Qureshi, a Senior Legal Expert, delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the legal rights of women employees and measures to ensure workplace safety. He also responded to participants’ queries, clarifying various aspects of the harassment protection law and its practical implementation.
The event featured additional expert insights. Ms. Sania Mirza, Gender Specialist, highlighted the importance of gender integration within the Punjab Family Planning Program, underscoring the necessity of inclusive policies. Mr. Tashfeen Abbas, Environmental Safeguard Specialist, discussed the World Bank’s environmental and social safeguards, emphasizing the intersection of these standards with gender and workplace policies.
Participants included Gender Focal Persons and field officers who joined the session virtually from across the province, while officials from the Directorate General Population Welfare, Directorate of Training, Research & Production, and Punjab Population Innovation Fund attended in person.
The session was hosted by Mr. Salman ur Rasheed and concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony. Mr. Khalid Parvez, Director General Health & Population, presented a token of appreciation to Mr. Imran Qureshi for his valuable contribution. The organizers expressed special thanks to the Women Development Department Punjab for their support in making the event a success.
