Romania Pakistan Economic Partnership Opportunities and Growth

The Embassy of Romania in Pakistan highlighted its commitment to strengthening economic ties with Pakistan following a meeting between Romanian officials and Jam Kamal Khan, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce. Discussions focused on increasing bilateral trade, which has already surpassed $200 million, and exploring new avenues for growth.
Both sides identified significant opportunities to expand exports, particularly in Romanian machinery, pharmaceuticals, and IT services, as well as Pakistani textiles, rice, and surgical goods. They also acknowledged challenges such as banking and customs procedures that must be addressed to facilitate smoother trade.
During the meeting, officials explored prospects for joint ventures in renewable energy, agriculture, and the digital economy. They also discussed enhanced cooperation within Pakistan’s Special Economic Zones, and expanding partnerships in halal food trade, infrastructure development, and technology sectors. The Romanian embassy reaffirmed its dedication to building a forward-looking and dynamic economic partnership with Pakistan.
