Women Rowing Action Ignites in Rawalpindi
On November 15, 2025 the All Pakistan Women Rowing Championship 2025–2026, hosted by Rawalpindi Women University, began with high energy and competitive determination as athletes took to the water for the opening day of racing. The start of the championship highlighted the rising profile of women’s rowing in Pakistan and set a vigorous tone for the series.
Players from 21 universities across Pakistan participated, bringing notable depth and regional representation to the regatta. Competitors and coaches praised the organized schedule and spirited atmosphere, underscoring how Women Rowing is gaining momentum at the university level.
Day 1 featured a full slate of races, with athletes contesting the 2000m Open Weight Single, the 1000m x2 Pair Lightweight, the 500m Open Weight Single, the 500m x4 Lightweight Relay, and the 1000m x2 Pair Open Weight. Each event produced close finishes and moments of tactical racing as crews balanced speed and endurance on challenging water conditions.
Spectators witnessed intense competition and impressive stamina as rowers displayed powerful performances, refined technique and strong teamwork throughout the day. The opening races demonstrated both individual skill and coordinated crew work, promising a competitive championship as teams prepare for the remaining program.
